“Web Encyclopedia: Creatures of the Kuroshio Current” is part of our ongoing project to create a comprehensive online encyclopedia of marine life in the southwestern waters of Shikoku. This page features ecological and specimen photos of marine life related to the Kuroshio Current. We update images of marine life in their natural habitats and of scientifically important specimens daily; please enjoy exploring them.
In order to create a more comprehensive marine life encyclopedia, we accept photos of various marine life, including fish. Photos of all kinds of marine life, such as fish you have caught, jellyfish floating in the sea, and octopuses hiding quietly at the bottom of the sea, can be valuable materials.
If you would like to provide photos, please send them to the following email address with the photographer, location (depth, water temperature, etc., if known), date of photo, and contact information.
