Introduction to the institute’s publications
1. Quarterly Journal “CURRENT” (in Japanese)
(Published in May, August, November, and February)
In order to make our activities public and deepen interest and understanding of the environment, we publish the Japanese journal “CURRENT” four times a year. It introduces the results of our research and the lives of various living organisms in an easy-to-understand manner, including topics from the surrounding area, so that it is accessible to a wider audience.
We distribute it free of charge to junior and senior high schools near the institute, and also send it to universities, academic societies, and research institutions around the country as an exchange book.
If you would like to subscribe to CURRENT
CURRENT will be sent to you free of charge for one year every fiscal year to those who donate 3,000 yen or more to the Kuroshio Biological Research Foundation. If you would like to receive it, please contact us at the address below. (Note: The Institute’s fiscal year runs from May 1st to April 30th. Those who donate during April will receive all four issues of Current published during that fiscal year in one shipment.)

2. Academic journal “Kuroshio Biosphere” (in Japanese and English)
(Published Annually)
The Foundation publishes the academic journal “Kuroshio Biosphere” once a year as a forum for publishing papers related to the organisms and environment in the Kuroshio Current ecosystem, whether on land or in the ocean, that are in line with the Foundation’s objectives. We accept submissions not only from the results of research by Foundation researchers and research using Foundation facilities, but also from the general public, so if you would like to submit a paper, please contact us at the address listed below.
